The Dome of the Rock (Arabic: قبة الصخرة, translit.: Qubbat As-Sakhrah, Hebrew: כיפת הסלע, translit.: Kipat Hasela, Turkish: Kubbetüs Sahra) is a notable Islamic shrine[1] for pilgrimage[2] in what Muslims call masjid al-Aqsa or the Noble Sanctuary (al-Haram al-Qudsi al-Sharif, Arabic: الحرم القدسي الشريف) — which Jews and Christians call Har ha-Bayit (Hebrew: הר הבית) or the Temple Mount — it remains one of the best known landmarks of Jerusalem. It was built between 687 and 691 by the 9th Caliph, Abd al-Malik. It is often mistakingly[3] referred to as Mosque of Umar, the actual mosque of Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab residing next to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

This is a really sweet picture, I´m studying jerusalem, and judaism.
| -> | 15.01.2006 Jewishfan If you study Jerusalem and Judaism it´s definetely wrong picture to look at:-( |
| -> | 29.01.2006 Leib770 As an observant Jew, this picture is very very important! We must be visually reminded that we have lost our Jewish sovereignty and are cowering to the Gentiles by allowing this Chillul Hashem to exist on our Holy Temple Mount. G-d willing soon, the "golden toilet" will be removed and replaced by the 3rd Holy Temple. |
| -> | 29.01.2006 Jewishfan My dear fellow Jew, this picture not important at all. And I don´t have to be visually reminded that we have lost our Jewish sovereignty, thanks but I remember that evry day with out this shot. And for those who styding Judaism this is wrong image to start with.
Shalom
